NEADS, India: Asia Regional Meeting
The North-East Affected Area Development Society (NEADS) is a community development organization founded in 1985 and based in the village of Dhekiakhowa, Jorhat district, in the state of Assam, in northeastern India. A largely volunteer-run organization, it works to strengthen the resilience of vulnerable communities.
His current work focuses on:
Disaster risk reduction and humanitarian aid;
Water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH);
Food security and livelihoods;
Education and child protection;
Gender equality and sustainable development.
NEADS operates in nine districts of the Upper Assam region.
Project and activities
This initiative aims to strengthen a regional dynamic in favor of a just ecological transition (JET) in South and Southeast Asia, initiated during the first phase of the Resilient Communities program. It brings together all the partners in the Asia-Eastern Europe cluster committed to JET issues.
Eight partner organizations from India, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Vietnam and Cambodia will participate in three regional workshops and several webinars.
These exchange sessions will allow us to:
To align approaches and practices;
To enrich the international strategy of CoRe II;
To contribute to the thematic and methodological groups of the program.
The partners involved are: Caritas Bangladesh, KMSS, SPERI, MASS, BSSS, GAIA, STT and NEADS.
