KMSS, Myanmar: Regional Meeting in Asia

Karuna Mission Social Solidarity (KMSS) was founded in 2001 and works to support the people of Myanmar, where a significant portion of the population lives below the poverty line.

The Catholic Church's social organization in Myanmar, KMSS, promotes integral human development with a focus on justice and peace, environmental protection, education, health, livelihoods, social protection, humanitarian aid, and emergency response. Through its programs, it supports vulnerable communities to strengthen their resilience and self-reliance.

Project activities

This initiative aims to consolidate a regional dynamic in favor of a just ecological transition (JET) in South and Southeast Asia, initiated during the first phase of the Resilient Communities program. It brings together all the partners in the Asia-Eastern Europe cluster committed to JET issues.

Eight partner organizations from India, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Vietnam, and Cambodia will meet for three regional workshops and several webinars. These working groups will harmonize approaches and enrich CoRe II's international strategy, particularly through its thematic and methodological working groups.

The partners involved are: Caritas Bangladesh, SPERI, MASS, BSSS, GAIA, STT, NEADS and KMSS.
