SNPS-CC, Colombia: Strengthening community capacities for a just ecological transition in the Colombian Amazon - Municipalities of Solano (Caquetá) and Puerto Guzmán (Putumayo)
The National Secretariat for Social Pastoral Care – Cáritas Colombiana (SNPS-CC) is a church organization affiliated with the Episcopal Conference of Colombia. Its mission is to contribute to integral, sustainable, and inclusive human development by placing its work at the service of society and fostering the formation of communities capable of addressing and transforming their social realities.
The CoRe II project
The CoRe II project aims to strengthen the capacities of Indigenous, peasant, and Afro-Colombian communities facing the socio-environmental crisis currently affecting the Colombian Amazon. Through the implementation of sustainable alternatives, the project seeks to reduce the vulnerability of these populations and promote a just and inclusive ecological transition.
The project will directly benefit 75 people and indirectly approximately 4,800 people.
Planned activities
Implementation of a training program in agroecology, focused on alternative and sustainable production systems
Reinforcement and the promotion of youth groups, in order to support them in developing strategies for peace with nature
Identifying the strengths of territories and conflict zones, with a view to promoting a better understanding and application of International Humanitarian Law (IHL).
