This experience review is part of the actions carried out between June and December 2023, as part of the implementation process of a project sponsored by the Zaragoza City Council, seeking to consolidate the implementation of family production systems to improve nutrition.
One of the intervention communities was the community of Caranota, located in the municipality of Anzaldo, Esteban Arce province, Cochabamba, Bolivia. The community has an altitudinal gradient of 2,100 to 2,400 meters, thorny montane vegetation, a dry climate, and a water deficit for agricultural development.
The adoption of circular reservoirs by families in the community and the intervention area has motivated this review, seeking to answer the following question: What elements during the intervention process have driven the adoption of circular reservoirs as a technological innovation for the efficient storage and use of irrigation water in the community of Caranota?
