This capitalisation, carried out by ACLO with the support of CIEDEL within the framework of the CoRe programme, summarizes the experience of the Molani community located in the ANMI El Palmar protected area in Bolivia , which has gradually become convinced of the advantages of ecotourism.

Through the journey of Don Hilarion Choque , community leader and president of the local ecotourism association, this article illustrates how a rural community can leverage its natural resources - canyon, palm forests, endemic wildlife - to diversify its income and strengthen its environmental protection.

Indeed, it details the precise phases of this transition: from initial awareness-raising to the organization of tourist services, including the training of guides and host families, while also posing challenges that remain to be met to make ecotourism a sustainable pillar of the local economy.
