Power to act

CIPCA - CIEDEL - 2024

In this document, the CIPCA Cochabamba (Bolivia) teams reflect on their experience supporting the Añahuani farming community , located in the Potosí department. After eight years of working with a handful of families, the results have exceeded all expectations: more than 1,500 fruit trees planted (cherry, lemon, avocado, banana trees, etc.), honey production launched, and aquaculture projects underway.

Faced with these unexpected results, the CIPCA technical team asked themselves: how did we manage to convince producers to adopt the proposed innovations?

In addition, this document identifies 8 key skills, including: knowing how to create relationships of trust with the community, knowing how to personally engage with farmers, knowing how to identify the most entrepreneurial families, and knowing how to involve the municipality in local development dynamics.
