This document is the result of a knowledge-sharing exercise carried out by the Caritas Bangladesh teams as part of the PAEP project. The teams were thus able to draw on their experience of supporting indigenous communities in promoting their traditional practices and implementing agroecology in the mountainous region of the Chittagong Hills Tract.

Traditional mountain farming practices, such as shifting cultivation and mixed cropping, indeed hold valuable ecological knowledge and enable this knowledge to be put to good use. Caritas Bangladesh’s long experience in supporting communities in these areas over several years may inspire other organisations working in similar contexts.
