In this summary sheet, the teams from CAAAP, FPP and IDL (in the department of San Martín, Peruvian Amazon) have brought together the main elements that enabled them to support indigenous women from the Awajún, Kichwa and Shawi peoples towards strengthening their participation and adopting a public policy to combat violence against women.

The support provided to this empowerment process, carried out without replacing the women themselves, resulted in the signing of an intercultural protocol for the protection of victims by the Superior Court of Justice of San Martín and its ratification by CODEPISAM, and made it possible to acquire important knowledge for supporting vulnerable groups in this type of context.
