In this capitalisation carried out by ACLO with the support of CIEDEL , the testimony of Juan Mercado highlights the leadership of an engaged neighbour of the barrio La Huerta, in Tarija.

Through his work with the community, he initiated several concrete projects to improve the quality of life in the neighborhood.

These include an ecological urban park, family huertos, rainwater harvesting and reforestation efforts.

However, this document shows how active local governance and nature-based solutions can transform a neighborhood, thus offering useful lessons to support other communities in sustainable initiatives.
